Program Focuses & Updates
Below are programs that will be the primary focus of donations for long-term as well as for our upcoming trip in Jan 2023 to acquire supplies needed to continue the improvement of the communities health, education and building.
Kings Academy School Building
Motivated By Love King’s Academy is a school located in Rabondo Sub Location, West Sakwa Location, Awendo Sub County of Migori County, Kenya, Africa. It is situated in the heart of Opoya village where getting routine government services like roads, water, electricity, public transportation, and medical care are a dream. The school has over 600 (co-ed) students.
Over 90% of the students are orphans, with the remainder being poor children of peasant farming families.
Grade levels include Baby Class, Pre-Unit, Nursery, and USA Grades 1-8.

Awendo Water Project
The Awendo Water Project (AWP) is a fundraising effort to provide clean drinking water to 400 households, representing 3,000 people in the area of Opiyo village, Awendo Migori County that houses the Motivated By Love King’s Academy pre-kindergarten through 8th grade school. The well will provide water to not only the 315 school children, but also their teachers, parents, and the people in the nearby area. Our initial fundraising goal is $20,000 to dig the first well. We will continue fundraising until we dig three wells in different parts of the village.
Teaching and Education
King’s Academy – School Technology, Equipment & Supplies (TES) TES, enables students to learn in a functional environment that includes basic learning necessities such as desks, chairs, and classroom supplies.
Currently, students and teachers do not have adequate desk space and basic school supplies.
Transition Moreover, by closing the large digital divide in this community, students can acquire
limitless knowledge and information that is only accessible through the internet.

GROWING SHOES PROGRAM
A $20 donation can provide one pair of Shoes That Grow to a child. Studies show that a child's foot grows a half size every 4 months. Shoes That Grow are able to increase up to 5 sizes! Can you imagine the impact that will have on these children's lives!
Our last mission trip January 2020, we were able to provide a 75 new pair of the Shoes That Grow for students at Motivated by Love: King's Academy. We also took around 50+ donated shoes.

POP-Up health CLINIC/MEDICAL SUPPLIES
Pop-Up Health Clinics (PUHC) help to fill a critical need in the Opiyo Awendo community where access to medical care and doctors is scarce. PUHCs provide screenings, treatment of common health conditions including malaria, allegres, diabetes and the like for the people of Opiyo Awendo village who otherwise cannot afford care. (or due to their location and socio-economic situation, basic healthcare services are not available). Dental and eye options

microenterprises
We are working to help the community be self sufficient with different business they can maintain with the resources they have available. Microenteprise programs include sewing, tailoring, farming, and will include additional opportunities as the existing ones progress.
